NEO Sports Insiders Week Six NFL Power Rankings

20. CLEVELAND BROWNS (26)

Well, if you predicted that one you’re either a fortune teller or flat-out liar. One cannot downplay how vital that victory in Baltimore was. As for myself, I was at work serving delicious sea-food to the residents of Northeast Ohio when the final points were put on the scoreboard by Travis Coons and the restaurant exploded with cheers and applause. The franchise-record setting performance by Josh McCown, a late – but necessary defensive stand in overtime and Gary Barnidge using his arms, legs and everything in between to haul in catches led the Browns to victory. Next week’s game holds an extreme amount of value to this franchise. A matchup that was possibly seen as a loss when the schedules were released, the Browns have a legitimate chance to win against Denver and if you want to call me crazy, please tweet me @VinceMillerCLE and we can debate until our fingers blister from our keyboards. If I was a gambling man I would put money on the Broncos as the Manning – Demaryius Thomas combo, with or without Joe Haden, is frightening to any defensive coordinator.

21. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (17)

Let me use this short paragraph to apologize to sports journalists everywhere because after Week 1, I had this team ranked at No.3 – and they’ve been descending faster than Brandon Weeden’s QBR ever since. Losing to the Bears and losing Jamaal Charles in the same week is a crushing blow to the Chiefs fan-base and if they lose to the Vikings this week, we could be talking Bottom 3 in our power rankings next week.

22. BALTIMORE RAVENS (20)

For the first time in the Harbough-Flacco era, Baltimore dropped a game at home to the Cleveland Browns. Sitting at 1-4 in the AFC North does not bode well for the Ravens, who are lacking depth at just about every position except RB and OL – And I exclude the running backs because of Justin Forsett’s strong play.
