NFL Week 1 Power Rankings

  1. MIAMI DOLPHINS 0-1

dolphins

Another season opener is in the books for Miami and it seems that offensive production is going to be a problem for the Dolphins. The only touchdown coming from a Ryan Tannehill scramble, Miami will look to refocus their game-plan and put together a stronger outing against the high-ranked and division foe New England Patriots.

  1. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 0-1

jags

With the disappearance of free agent acquisition Chris Ivory for medical issues, second year RB T.J. Yeldon was the leader of the backfield for the loss to Green Bay. Yeldon, however, was not very productive averaging only 1.9 yards per carry totaling 39 yards on 19 carries. Blake Bortles can’t throw the ball on every down so hopefully the ground-game gains some traction this upcoming week.

  1. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS 0-1

Another stellar performance from the QB position as Andrew Luck tossed for 4 TD’s and 385 yards during the loss to Detroit at Lucas Oil Stadium. Hitting eight different receivers on the day, Luck will look to duplicate his outing against the No.1 ranked Denver Broncos.

  1. ATLANTA FALCONS 0-1

falcons

Devontae Freeman’s lack of production is not something to be worried about this year. With only 11 touches on the ground in week 1 I would be baffled if the Falcons didn’t find a way to work him back into the offense for this upcoming week. Newly acquired WR from the Bengals, Mohammed Sanu, was in premium form amassing 80 yards and a TD on 5 catches.

  1. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS 0-1

saints

Crippling first week loss for Drew Brees and the Saints. This game could’ve went in New Orleans’ favor if not for the late two-point conversion to seal the W for Oakland. However, there was no shortage of aerial assault as Brees tossed the rock for 423 yards and 4 TD’s. Wide receiver Willie Snead, who formerly played for the Browns a few years ago, burst onto the scene catching all nine of his targets and tallying 172 yards and a touchdown.
