NFL Week 1 Power Rankings

  1. CINCINNATI BENGALS 1-0

bengals

Revis Island was flooded by a wave known as A.J. Green. The pro-bowl receiver caught 12/13 targets against the Jets, amassing 180 yards and 2 touchdowns this past Sunday afternoon. If the Bengals wish to duplicate that type of production out of not only Green but Andy Dalton as well, protecting the QB is going to have to be a priority as the Bengals offensive line gave up 7 sacks – 5 in the first half.

  1. PITTSBURGH STEELERS 1-0

No Bell, no problem. Referring to suspended running back Le’Veon Bell, who will miss the next two weeks of action, the Steelers found solace in DeAngelo Williams who racked up 143 yards and 2 TD’s on the day. Big Ben didn’t waste time finding Antonio Brown, who also had a big night on Monday totaling 126 yards on 8 receptions and 2 TD’s.

  1. ARIZONA CARDINALS 0-1

Sticking with the NFC at the #8 spot on our list is the Cardinals. If you were looking for a human highlight reel, maybe David Johnson should be in your next stack of film. The front man of the backfield found himself touching the ball an awful lot and if you decided to take a chance on him in your fantasy draft this year it looks like you’re going to be in good shape. Larry Fitzgerald also caught his 100th touchdown – not a bad start to the star-studded receiver’s alleged farewell tour.

  1. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS 1-0

This backfield situation will become very difficult in the coming weeks – unless Spencer Ware racks up close to 200 yards of production game after game. The replacement back to the injured Jamaal Charles was everything but that in his recent outing where he totaled 129 receiving yards on 7 catches while taking care of the ball on the ground as well, averaging 6.4 yards per carry and a touchdown.

  1. OAKLAND RAIDERS 1-0

So maybe you don’t get the new stadium or a chance to be the resurrected franchise for Los Angeles. With all of that in the rear-view for now, Jack Del Rio marched his team out on a two-point conversion down by single point and pulled out a victory on a fade route to Michael Crabtree. Rounding out the Top 10 on our list, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this team exceed some expectations for 2016.
