When it Comes to Winning Playing Fanduel – Here’s a Solid Strategy

The tournaments are the most popular thing on Fanduel and that’s because it’s where the big money is at. You see the commercials each week of the people who won millions on Fanduel and it’s usually one of three options.

A. They are entering really expensive buy-ins each week.

B. They have hundreds of entries this week. You can look at a person’s win total and some of these people are well in the thousands.

C. They won big money from a tournament and may have won multiple in a week.

I have a like and a dislike for tournaments.

I like entering smaller buy-in tournaments and avoiding the bigger tournaments. If you look at a basic tournament lately, you’re going to average around 450,000 entering and needing to finish in the top 90,000 to just double your money (top 20%), and to win $100 on a $5 entry you need to finish in the top 2500 (top 0.5%).

This is why I like playing in smaller value tournaments.

If I directly compare the double up to a tournament, to double my money I have to finish in the top 44% versus the top 20%. That 24% difference is huge and if I’m betting larger amounts of money I feel more comfortable doing a double up to win.
