Projecting All 42 College Bowl Games With Confidence

New Mexico Bowl

Albuquerque, NM

12/19 2 PM

Arizona (6-6) vs. New Mexico (7-5)

Arizona

Confidence: 34

Arizona is a big favorite in this one and I’m going to agree. This is pretty much a home game for New Mexico who has played well recently beating Boise, Utah State, and Air Force down the stretch. Arizona has more talent on their team and just needs to get healthy for this game. If LB Scooby Wright comes back, he will be a huge help to their defense. This one will be closer than people think, but Arizona wins in the talent department and gets the win.

Las Vegas Bowl

Las Vegas, NV

BYU (9-3) vs. Utah (9-3)

Utah

Confidence: 9

This is a great battle of Utah teams. Utah saw itself in the top three in the country before faltering in the stretch. I just think Utah is a gritty team that wins this one on great fundamental play. They had a huge day when they played Jared Goff, the possible number one pick forcing him to throw five interceptions. Tanner Mangum has done well this year in relief for the Cougars but the Utes defense is good. Utah also has the ability to control field position with Tom Hackett, the back-to-back Ray Guy Award winner for best punter in the country. This would be a great game to watch if you don’t mind a tactical lower scoring game.

Camellia Bowl

Montgomery, AL

Ohio (8-4) vs. Appalachian State (10-2)

Appalachian State

Confidence: 32

Both of these teams didn’t really play that hard of a schedule this season. Ohio benefited from playing in the MAC East and the Sun Belt is only strong at the top. Appalachian State has a strong defense allowing seven points or fewer in four of its twelve games this season. All but two of their wins have come by at least 18 points this season. Ohio is just outmatched in this one.
