This one is intriguing because Georgia State has a great passing offense, eight in the country, and San Jose State a great passing defense, second in the country only behind Georgia. The Spartans record is a little deceiving as well with all but one of their losses coming to bowl teams. Once again this is a game I could see going either way but I like Georgia State ever so slightly. They have won four straight including beating up on Georgia Southern in their final game who is the nation’s top rushing attack.

Arkansas State (9-3) vs. Louisiana Tech (8-4)

It’s really hard to pick against Arkansas State in this one and that’s why this is my least confident game. Their three losses have come to USC, Missouri, and Toledo who were all ranked at some point this year. They went undefeated in the Sun Belt and all their wins have been by double digits. They also lead the country with 30 interceptions. Louisiana Tech on the other side did not make it to the Conference USA Championship game but all of their losses have been to bowl teams as well. I always get burned picking against Louisiana Tech so I’m just going with my gut in this one although Arkansas State should be the favorite on paper.

Western Kentucky (11-2) vs. South Florida (8-4)

I love Western Kentucky but I’m not in love with their draw. The Hilltoppers are led by Brandon Doughty who could be a day three draft pick at QB. He has 45 TDs to 7 INTs and the team is 6th in the country in passing and 4th in points. They also won Conference USA, which I have high respect for. South Florida has won seven of eight with the lone loss coming to Navy. The best win has come over Temple. They have a strong game ranking 11th in the country. I expect it to be a close battle but still have to go Western Kentucky in the end.
