Grading the 31 Picks of the First Round of the 2016 NFL Draft

30.) Carolina Panthers- Vernon Butler DT Louisiana Tech
Grade: C+
I think Vernon Butler is a very good football player but the fit of going to Carolina was a little questionable. While their contracts are up at the end of the year, with letting go of Norman I thought there was a chance they keep Short and Lotulelei. With this pick, I figure they are planning to lose one when they could have addressed another area of more immediate need in order to get back to the Super Bowl.

31.) Seattle Seahawks- Germain Ifedi OT Texam A&M
Grade: C+
The Seahawks did need offensive help, but with so many talented players on the defensive side of the ball I’m not sure why they didn’t take advantage of getting one of them in addition to an extra pick. He fits a need so it’s not a bad pick.
