Players to Love and Hate in Week Five Of Fantasy Football

Loves:

QB Matt Ryan $8,300

Atlanta is back to the high powered offense that we were used to about three or four years ago. While Freeman has surprised a lot of people the last couple of weeks, Coleman is getting close to taking some carries away and teams will be looking to shut down Freeman near the goalline. This should open things up for Jones and Hankerson too.

QB Eli Manning NYG $7,700

Going against San Fran’s defense hurt me last week but I’m going to try again this week. They have just been plagued with injuries, retirements, and people wanting out. The Giants have an incredible weapon in ODB and San Fran will have their hands full.

RB Justin Forsett BAL $7,200

The Browns have been god awful on defense especially against the run. Forsett might finally be turning the corner after a good outing last week. He should be a safe bet to at least get some yards on the ground and the passing game.

RB Carlos Hyde $7,000

Part of me just really likes Hyde this week. He hasn’t been able to do anything since the first week but it also doesn’t help when his team gets blown out early. The 49ers have to figure out something soon and why not feed Hyde when you are playing a bottom ten team against the run.

RB Todd Gurley STL $6,700

Gurley showed us why he was worth a first round pick last week when he got his first true chance to shine. The Packers aren’t good against the run so as long as the Rams defense can keep it close, Gurley can see some touches and break one.

RB TJ Yeldon $6,600

Yeldon is a back totally worth buying into. He gets the touches and he’s had decent fantasy numbers on the year. The only thing holding him back on the year is not being able to find the endzone. The Bucs dline is weak so he may finally get his chance to breakthrough.

WR Julian Edelman NE $7,700

He’s had at least eight cathches and 85 yards in every game this year. That is consistency and the Cowboys are thin at corner. Edelman should be in line to have another decent game with Lafell still out.

WR Alshon Jeffery CHI $7,600

If he plays I like Jeffery. He has really come on the last couple of years but he’s been hampered by a hamstring injury this year. However with Cutler back in at QB, his value increases and he needs a target to throw to besides Bennett.

WR Jeremy Maclin KC $6,900

140 receiving yards the last two weeks. Check. For everyone avoiding KC WRs like the plague because of them not being able to find the endzone, Maclin has come on lately. Chicago is still miserable at defense.

WR Kamar Aiken BAL $5,800

With Steve Smith banged up, Aiken would be next in line to step up with Perriman still out. The Browns have really been bad at all aspects of their defense and even if Haden plays we know he’s not 100%. He’s a value pick for those looking.

WR Willie Snead NO $5,300

I’ll throw Snead in here for my other value play. He’s actually been the one who has stepped into the role of number two WR in New Orleans. While Brees has not had a clear number one target with Graham gone, Snead could step up for his cheap cost and deliver against some bad Eagles corners.

TE Rob Gronkowski NE $8,400

Usually I stay away from playing Gronk figuring there are a lot of good players for cheap at the TE position. However Gronk is on another level and even though he had his worst week of the season last week, he still scored 12 points and would have had more if it wasn’t such a blowout.

TE Travis Kelce KC $6,500

I just like anyone going against Chicago. Plain and simple.

TE Owen Daniels DEN $4,900

He comes in as another value play. He hasn’t had a ton of receptions or yards on the season but he does have two touchdowns the last two games. The Raiders are also the worst team against TEs so look out for him this week.
