Players To Love And Hate In Week 17 Of Fantasy Football

Tom Brady

My Lineup:

QB Tom Brady NE $8,900
The Patriots get the number one seed with a win over Miami this week. This is a perfect week for Brady to rebound before getting two weeks off with a bye. He hasn’t scored 20 points in three weeks but goes up against a Miami defense that allows over 250 through the air a game. There is nobody that embraces the big game pressure better than Brady.

RB Darren McFadden DAL $7,200
Who would have thought Darren McFadden would have lasted all season without suffering a major injury? He fell one yard short of posting 100 in three straight games rushing. Washington allows about 125 yards a game on the ground and they have nothing to play for, being stuck as the four seed. McFadden has a great chance to hit well over 100 yards this week.

RB Jeremy Langford CHI $4,900
Matt Forte is a free agent after the season and is dealing with a back injury. Langford seems to have stepped up into a role in replacing him. With all three backs active last week, Langford led the way with 19 carries although the TD carries went Carey. If they do move on from Forte this week Langford would be in line for most of the workload and at $4,900 would be a steal.

WR Odell Beckham NYG $8,900
Man what a disappointment the Eagles have been. With Chip gone I don’t see the Eagles really having anything to play for in this one. Their season is done while I can see Beckham being fired up after his one game suspension. Carroll and Maxwell can’t cover Beckham. He’s due for a big one.

WR Brandon Marshall NYJ $8,600
I’m going with two New York receivers this week. It’s a win and in game for the Jets. Marshall has a touchdown in seven of his last eight games and nine total in them. He’s hit 100 yards in four of his last five and has been on fire with the Jets rolling. If they want to make sure they win, I can see them going pass heavy and looking Marshall’s way to seal up a win and a playoff berth.

WR Travis Benjamin CLE $5,400

It’s also a must win game for Pittsburgh. If they go up early on Cleveland’s horrible defense then it’s a play from behind and a passing game for Cleveland. The Steelers defense is 30th in passing yards and with Austin Davis starting he does not have a lot of chemistry with these guys. There’s also not a whole lot to throw to so I will pick Benjamin having a bigger role in the offense this week as the top receiver the Browns have.

TE Greg Olsen CAR $6,600
Olsen will be the guy for Cam with Ginn doubtful for Sunday’s game. Carolina has put up points despite seemingly losing everyone on their offense except for Cam and Olsen. The sturdy duo can make for a lot of catches if Carolina wants the win.

K Graham Gano CAR $4,900
The Buccaneers allow the third most points to opposing kickers. Carolina will guarantee home field advantage with a win this week. Cam Newton has played on a MVP level this year and has really come through for the offense. Gano averages the fourth most points per week as a kicker so all the signs point to starting him.

DEF Rams $4,600
The Rams have been reliant on defensive touchdowns for them to have big games. Blaine Gabbert starting makes that a possibility and the 49ers have struggled on offense. Even the Browns got nine sacks on them. Tavon Austin is always a threat on special teams to break one so for a cheaper option why not try St. Louis?
