NEO Sports Insiders Week Nine NFL Power Rankings

 26. CLEVELAND BROWNS (24) 2-6

I am all for a guy being tough, but Josh McCown took a beating in the second half of that game against Arizona. The Browns also have four other players that are currently under the concussion protocol: Joe Haden, Donte Whitner, Brian Hartline and Andrew Hawkins all were listed on the injury report with concussions. As if the embarrassing loss to the Cardinals wasn’t enough, trade rumors surfaced shortly before kickoff – the initial report was Joe Thomas to Denver and the Browns were asking for two 1st round picks. Joe is a true professional stating “I’m not a quitter” when asked about the reports.

Once the smoke settles after the 4 p.m. deadline on Tuesday the Browns have no room for weariness as they have to travel to Cincinnati on Thursday night to take on the undefeated Bengals. A short week is not in favor for any team, but the much healthier Bengals will be in good shape to take on the Browns. If they lose this game, I would say it is time to pull the plug, and let Johnny Manziel finish off the season. Also, can we let Duke Johnson Jr. touch the ball more than three times a game?

 27. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (27) 2-5

Although it would have been easy to drop this team given their next opponent, the New York Jets, I think Blake Bortles will find success against a defense they will not be able to run the ball against. Saved by the bye week, Jacksonville acquired some much needed rest and will look to crawl out of the bottom.

28. BALTIMORE RAVENS (29) 2-6

Horrific ending to a season cut short for Steve Smith Sr., who ruptured his achilles on a RAC in the middle of the field against San Diego last week. Baltimore was able to win the game thanks to Justin Tucker’s leg. However, losing Smith Sr. is substantial and the Ravens are going to have a tough time generating offense the rest of this season.
