NEO Sports Insiders Week Five NFL Power Rankings

index

20. BALTIMORE RAVENS (21)

Well, Baltimore stole their first win of the season and they owe all the credit to Pittsburgh’s kicker and Justin Forsett. Forsett looked the part of AFC North running back and stumbled his way to a buck-fifty on 27 touches and carried Baltimore to a victory in Heinz Field. The loss of Steve Smith Sr. is troubling and if Cleveland can get Joe Haden back it may a tough game for Joe Flacco and his rag-tag group of wide receivers.

21. WASHINGTON REDSKINS (22)

Captain Kirk Cousins was at the helm with twenty-six seconds left in the game against the Eagles and found Mount Union Alumni Pierre Garcon for the game winning touchdown. One player this team should considering moving on from – TE Jordan Reed. Suffering an MCL sprain and a concussion on Sunday, Washington is now extremely thin at the tight end position.

22. TENNESSEE TITANS (23)

A much needed break for the Titans as they had a bye week. Week 5 will deliver the Buffalo Bills on Marcus Mariota’s front door step and that is not a match-up that favors the young quarterback.

23. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (20)

If there were any positives coming out of the loss to the ‘skins it may have been Sam Bradford’s stat column – and that’s about it. Bradford finished with 15/28, 270 yards, and 3 TDs. Demarco Murray wants the ball more and 10 total touches (8 rushes, 2 snags) can you blame him? What’s that old saying? Don’t count your reps, make your reps count? Regardless, the mess in Philly starts and ends with Chip Kelly.

24. DETROIT LIONS (24)

The Lions defense carried this team through a tough game in Seattle only to fall victim to Kam Chancellor and a fumble that was intentionally batted out of the back of the end-zone. Defensive end Ezekiel Ansah had a sack, fumble, and fumble recovery in one play and later on the defense scored the Lions’ only touchdown after Wilson was stripped and the ball was recovered and taken to the house.
