Indians tie longest winning streak of the year with ninth straight win; three takeaways

1. Clevinger does damage

Clevinger topped the Tigers for the third straight time this year on Friday night.

In six innings of work, Clevinger gave up just three hits and one walk, en route to striking out six in his shutout win. The victory marked Clevinger’s eighth total of the year.

While Clevinger has allowed the Tigers to score just one run on him in 2017, even he couldn’t deny the boost he got from the Tribe offense on Friday.

“The roll that they’ve been on has been awesome,” Clevinger said when talking about the offense. “Even in the tough games, there’s still good [at-bats] throughout.”
