According to MLB writer Peter Gammons, the Cleveland Indians are the favorite to land Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy.
Given the injury to Yan Gomes, who was struggling when healthy, and the lack of production from Roberto Perez (.045 avg.) and Chris Giminez, (.204 avg.) the Indians could certainly use an upgrade and with only four days left until the trade deadline, we’ll see if the Tribe pull the trigger.
Lucroy is batting .301 with 13 home runs and 50 RBI and could make a huge difference in a lineup that has been less productive since the end of the All-Star Break.
