Tough night in Charlotte for Cavaliers, fall 126-94

 Jr’s Night

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Jr Smith added 14 points off the bench Saturday night. Smith had found himself out of the rotation recently, but looked good in his minutes against Charlotte.

Jr Smith has had himself a fun NBA career. First and foremost the man has NBA championship, and should be remembered as such. Going all the way back to his days in Denver he has always been a guy that has been misunderstood. Love-able but complicated. He has the ability to knock down six threes in a game, but also have mental mistakes that cost you.

This week has been more on the complicated side. Earlier in the week it was reported that Smith wished he would be traded, but said he would remain professional because he couldn’t do that to the Cavalier fans. Well Saturday night, Smith reminded Cavs fans why the veteran will forever be Cleveland’s son. Sure he’s had better games statistically over the course of his career in Cleveland, but his 14 points Saturday felt different. He shot (4/6) from three while also leading the team in assists with four, maybe this will earn Smith more minutes or maybe it was one of his last moments as a Cavalier.

Regardless if he remains in the wine and gold or not, Cavaliers fans will always love the man who refused to put his shirt back on.
