Opinion: Grading Every Browns Move Thus Far

9.) Browns sign TE Darren Fells, 3 years 12 million

Grade: D

This is the worst of the signings. The Browns already have the same player in Randall Telifer and are paying him over 3 million dollars less to do the same thing. Fells offers nothing in the passing game as he has never caught more than 21 passes in a season and 4 million is 3 million too much to pay for a run blocking specialist who won’t play every down and will be 32 this year.

10.) Browns sign CB Terrance Mitchell, 3 years 12 million

Grade: B

Mitchell started half of last season for Kansas City for a pretty good defense. A 3 year 12 million dollar deal means he is being looked at as a depth option and the Browns were extremely thin at the position last year. Getting a player with starting experience and capability for that price is always a good move for a struggling secondary.

You were doing good until the Joe Thomas assessment. “I’m glad he took his time and came up with a decision that was best for him”. Wow, sounds really selfish. Joe took his ball and went home. Let’s celebrate.
