Indians Win Ninth Straight Game With 5-4 Victory Over White Sox; Three Takeaways

3. Corey Kluber’s Performance

Cleveland Indians ace Corey Kluber pitched 6.1 innings, giving up nine hits on four runs and striking out 12.

The White Sox did give Kluber some problems in the third inning, as Jose Abreu hit a three-run home run to cut the deficit to 4-3. Chicago was able to tie the game up at four off of Tim Anderson’s double in the sixth inning to right field that Austin Jackson narrowly missed.

One of the brighter spots tonight? With his 12 Ks, Kluber becomes the first pitcher in franchise history to strikeout at least 12 hitters three straight games.
