Indians Fall in Game One to the Tigers 7-4; Three Takeaways From the Setback

2. More Issues for Tomlin

The Indians are going to have to make some big decisions to make with Josh Tomlin, as despite getting a no-decision, he was ineffective again as the Indians gave him an early 1-0 lead.

He wound up going 4.2 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits with two walks and three K’s.

The veteran pitcher simply isn’t getting it done, and he’s putting the team behind too early in games, which makes it an uphill battle.

The same thing happened on Saturday, as the Indians trailed 4-1, and while they fought back, it was then Shaw who allowed the game to go the other way with three runs in the 7th.
