Cavs Win Streak Snapped at 13 in 106-102 Loss to Pacers; Three Takeaways from the Defeat

2. The 11-2 Pacers Run

While the game was much like a Rocky movie for most of the first three quarters, the Pacers landed a TKO when they went on a backbreaking 11-2 run late in the third quarter to take control of the game for good.

The Cavs led 81-78 when Victor Oladipo hit a key three with 3:09 to play in the third to start the run, and by the time it was over, the Pacers had an 89-85 lead with 1:17 to play in the third when Bojan Bogdanovic made a short jumper.

The run was the biggest on the night on both sides, and while at the time it only gave the Pacers a four-point lead, it really cemented the Indiana momentum and gave them enough to push them into the lead for good the rest of the way.

The Cavs in the fourth got to 96-95 on J.R. Smith’s 3-pointer with 2:48 left, but the Pacers again had enough to create distance to never lose the lead and get the win.
