Cavaliers get fifth straight win after dismantling Detroit, 116-88; three takeaways

3. Calderon fits right in

Coming into Monday night’s game there was some anxiety from fans about Calderon starting with three point guards injured for the Wine and Gold; after all, he spent nearly three weeks out of the rotation completely and had only one start prior to Monday this season.

But, it appears as if Calderon took head coach Tyronn Lue’s advice to heart, who said on Sunday that he wanted Calderon to “just play his game.”

Previously, Calderon had scored just seven points with five assists and four rebounds in 47 minutes before Monday, but in 28 minutes against the Pistons he put up 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting with four rebounds and two assists.
