Boston Massacre: Cavs look out of sync as they fall to Celtics; three takeaways

2. Boston’s third quarter and bench

At halftime, the Cavs weren’t playing particularly well, but were still only down by eight points.

That would all change during the third quarter, however, as the Celtics went on a 20-8 run to balloon their lead to 20 points. The Celtics bench was a huge part of their overall offense on Wednesday, as they just barely edged the Cavs’ bench, 48-45.

Shaker Heights’ own Terry Rozier was the leader of that group, scoring 10 points in the fourth quarter alone to lead the entire team with 20 for the night.

Overall, the Cavs struggled on the defensive end and were slow in their matchups and rotations, leading to plenty of uncontested shots and allowing the bench plenty of opportunities for heroics.
