NEOSI Top 10 NBA Power Rankings for November 23rd

This is about as a balanced a start to an NBA season as we’ve seen in recent years. There are 11 teams in the Eastern Conference above .500 and only five teams with winning records in the West. There are many surprises and unexpected slow starts around the league so let’s take a look at this week’s top ten teams.

1. Golden State Warriors (15-0)

Last Week: 1

It seems like it will never end. The Warriors had a couple of scares, including an overtime victory against Brooklyn and overcoming a 23-point deficit to Chris Paul and the Clippers.

Golden State’s win Sunday night against Denver tied the best start to a season in NBA history as the Warriors became the third team to ever start a season 15-0.

The way they are playing, it’s not out of the question that they could be undefeated heading into a Christmas showdown with the Cavaliers, but that is over a month away. Golden State will have to get through a seven-game road trip between now and then, but none of the teams on their schedule really instill fear into their opponents. They gotta lose eventually, right?
