Kipnis’ 9th Inning Grand Slam Lifts Indians to 4-1 Win Over White Sox; Three Takeaways

3. Josh Donaldson and Andrew Miller

Both Josh Donaldson and Andrew Miller played in back-to-back games for the Indians for the first time since May.

At the time, Donaldson was playing for the Toronto Blue Jays. This is a major step for Miller and Donaldson. Both of these players will be key players for the Indians in October.

On the night Miller threw a third of an inning, allowing a hit, while Donaldson got the 9th inning rally going, legging out a single. He was 1-for-3, and manager Terry Francona said after the game he wouldn’t play in the finale on Thursday.
