Indians End the First Half with a ‘W’ – Top the Yankees 5-2; Three Takeaways from the Win

1. Another Beautiful Day for Bauer

Trevor Bauer was hit with a 92 degree day in which he had some issues early, but he recovered and threw seven very good innings, allowing just two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts.

He threw 110 pitches, 74 for strikes, and he really had to work out of trouble for most of the afternoon until he got into a groove.

While it was a no-decision for Bauer, he ends the first half with a mark of 8-6 with an ERA of 2.24. He’ll be needed to have another big second half for the Tribe.
