Indians cruise to 19th straight win with 11-0 blowout of Tigers; three takeaways

3. In pursuit of history

With the win, the Indians are now just one win away from tying the 2002 Oakland A’s 20 straight wins. Their current streak is already the longest since then, and the second longest in the MLB expansion era.

During the streak, the Indians now have a +100 run differential, outscoring opponents 132-32. They have trailed for just four innings out of 171 total.

They are also, of course, doing work on the mound. The starting pitchers have combined for a 17-0 record over the last 19 games, with a 1.84 ERA, allowing just 24 earned runs.

“It is good, everyone knows we play hard, we’ve been pitching good,” Carrasco said. “We made those plays we’re supposed to make, so everything is coming together.”

They are also now 12-0 during the month of September, making it the best start to any calendar month in franchise history.

Oh, and did we mention that tomorrow is a Kluber day?
