Goodrum’s HR’s and Another Pen Implosion Does in Indians in 6-3 Loss to Tigers; Three Takeaways

3. Oh that Bullpen

With the game very much still in question in the 8th inning, Terry Francona decided to go to first Evan Marshall on the mound, and then when he gave up a walk and a hit, he gave the ball to Zach McAllister.

Bad move.

Marshall set the table and poured the gas for the Tigers with a poor outing, and McAllister lit the match and threw it on the pile as he allowed a three-run blast to Niko Goodrum to go from a 3-2 game to a 6-2 game just like that.

Consider that McAllister has given up 5 homers in 15.2 innings this season, and Marshall hasn’t impressed in his short time with the big league roster.

It’s going to be a revolving door all season long with this pen, and Monday night was a prime example why your going to see plenty of arms in this pen in 2018.
