The Tribe has a lot going for them.

One of the best managers in the game.

A pitching rotation with a Cy Young-Winner and a few of the best power pitchers in the A.L.

And a young nucleus of Jason Kipnis, Michael Brantley, and Francisco Lindor, who all have a great chance at being named to the All-Star Team in 2016.

What they’re missing, and have been for years, (aside from fans in the seats)

IS A MIDDLE OF THE ORDER BAT.

Mark Shapiro left for Toronto, where he’ll have more offense to work with between the 2,3, and 4 hitters there than he had in 15 years’ worth of hitting here in Cleveland.

New Team President Chris Antonetti is left in the offices at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario, hoping that under the Christmas tree, their new clean-up hitter is waiting.

Not to be a grinch or a scrooge, but I have a feeling it’s gonna be like that time you wanted the brand new toy that all your friends got, and it turned out to be a cheap, generic knockoff.

But you love them anyway. At least they tried.
