Counting Down The Browns Worst 5 Primetime Games Since 1999

Cleveland Browns Miami Dolphins

1. Sunday Night Football December 26th 2004 (3-11) Browns 7 (3-11) Dolphins 10

This is arguably the worst Browns primetime game ever played. There was hope going into that season that both of these teams would be in the mix as an up and comer for a playoff spot. Instead fans saw a battle for the at the time number two overall pick in the draft. This game was so bad that I was 12 at the time and still remember it. The highlight of the game for the Browns was Lee Suggs breaking Jim Brown’s record for carries in a game with 38 for 143 yards. The starter for this game was none other than….Luke McCown who went 9 of 16 for 161 yards and two picks with his only highlight being a 58 yard touchdown to Dennis Northcutt. For the Dolphins, AJ Feeley was the QB and only threw for 176 yards on 43 attempts or four yards an attempt. The only thing that saved the fans was Olindo Mare making a 51 yarder with seven seconds left to avoid overtime. The kicker, the Browns would beat the Texans the following week to give the Dolphins the second pick who they used on Ronnie Brown. The Browns in turn took Braylon Edwards.
