7 Takeaways For LeBron’s Seventh-Straight NBA Finals Appearance

5. Kevin Love’s Emergence in the ECF

Love just had arguably his best five-game stretch of his career in Cleveland.

The stretch four has not been known for dominant playoff performances in his first three years with the Cavs, as 2015 was cut short (coincidentally by one of the Celtics), 2016 left much to be desired, especially in the Finals, and the first two rounds of 2017 were not overwhelmingly great.

However, in this series, Love posted the following numbers:

Gm 1 32 points, 12 rebounds

Gm 2 21 points, 12 rebounds

Gm 3 28 points, 10 rebounds

Gm 4 17 points, 17 rebounds

Gm 5 15 points, 11 rebounds (didn’t play fourth quarter)

Add that to what Kyrie Irving showed off in Game 4, scoring 42 points and 21 in the third quarter, and this could be the perfect time for all three members of the trio to be playing their best basketball, heading into the Finals.
