2015-2016 NBA Mid-Season Rankings: Top 10 Centers

Howard
#10-#5

10. Dwight Howard : Houston Rockets – 14 points per game, 12 rebounds per game. Howard is third in the NBA in rebounding and has posted two 20/20 games, in which he has scored at least 20 points and grabbed at least 20 boards. He is a shell of his former-self. Long-gone are the days when “Superman” was the dominant big man in the league in Orlando, but is still one of the better centers in the NBA.

BROOK

9. Brook Lopez : Brooklyn Nets – 19.6 points per game, 8.4 rebounds per game. Lopez has been remarkably healthy this season (knock on wood) playing in 46 games, and is second among centers in scoring. He is top ten in the NBA in blocks per game, averaging 1.9 rejections, and is one of the few bright spots on a bad Nets team.

8. Nikola Vucevic : Orlando Magic – 16.7 points per game, 9 rebounds per game. Vucevic has flown somewhat under-the-radar in Orlando, but is having a season that is impossible to ignore. The 25-year-old from Switzerland is fifth among centers in scoring and is one of ten centers with 20 or more double-doubles, posting exactly 20 so far in the 2015-2016 campaign.

Miami Heat

7. Hassan Whiteside : Miami Heat – 12 points per game, 11 rebounds per game. Whiteside is a shot-blocking machine, leading the league with 4 blocks per game. He has two triple-doubles with points, rebounds, and blocks. Whiteside has blocked at least five shots in 14 games this season. He is tied for fourth in the league in rebounding, averaging 11.2 boards per game.

towns

6. Karl Anthony-Towns : Minnesota Timberwolves – 16 points per game, 10 rebounds per game. If this is what KAT is doing at age 20, the sky is the limit for the seven-foot rookie. It certainly looks like Minnesota made the right move with the number one overall pick in the 2015 Draft and Towns is on track to be the second Timberwolf to win the Rookie of the Year Award in as many seasons.
