The Soccer World got a little brighter today as some of the area’s top talent from the Internationals SC signed on the dotted line to play college soccer at some of the top soccer schools in America. The event was held at the Pinnacle Sports Complex in Medina.
I spoke with Program Director and soccer guru Zdravko Popovic who had this to say about this years bunch and the commitment it took to get them there, “Learning the life skills through the athletics is equally important as getting you ready for the game. It doesn’t matter what the score board is, you can always win with good life skills.”
Assistant coach Keri Sarver had this to say as well, “It is important to set standards for the club from a young age as it is crucial they show respect to everyone on and off the field. They need take care of people and each other, along with themselves. These girls are also going to college to be students first, before anything else.”

The Internationals Soccer Club was established in 1976 as an outlet for players who had graduated from college with a desire to continue to play competitively. Soon to follow was the Internationals women’s program which competed at the national level within two years. The youth program was launched in 1985. Today, Internationals Soccer Club, is one of the finest and most respected youth soccer clubs in the country.
The Internationals has become synonymous with playing, coaching, and organizational excellence. Our coaches are licensed at the highest levels and provide some of the best training in the country. Internationals teams have won more State Titles, Regional Titles, and National Titles than any other club in Northern Ohio. The club has provided professional coaching to athletes for over thirty years.
Internationals’ players have a tremendous amount of national exposure, both on the US Youth National Team and college levels. The club’s reputation for excellence proceeds it wherever and whenever it competes. Internationals’ record of placing top-ranked student-athletes is well-known throughout the USA and abroad.
