Preview: Lester and Bauer Set to Battle in Tonight’s Series Finale As Indians Look to Rebound Against Cubs

2. Indians Vs the Lefty Lester

Jon Lester is a pitcher the Indians have seen plenty of times over the years, and have had very little success against him, making the chance to score runs even more important tonight.

The Cubs lefty is a lifetime 7-1 against the Indians in 15 starts, sporting a 3.03 ERA. The Tribe did get to him for a win in the 2016 World Series, and in the seven-game classic he was 1-1 against the Tribe with a 3.68 ERA.

So far in 2018 Lester is 2-0 with a 3.10 ERA, and was dominant in his last start on April 19th against the Cardinals, not allowing an earned run in six innings, giving up just two hits and striking out seven.

It will be big for the Tribe to work the count on him and get some base runners early this evening.
