1. The pitching matchup

Kluber takes the mound for his 12th start of the year on Wednesday. He’s  allowed three or fewer runs in each of his last 23 starts going back to Aug. 3, 2017. It’s the longest streak by any Indians starter in the Baseball-Reference Play Index era.

In his last start against Houston, he earned a no-decision despite pitching six and one-third shutout innings.

For the White Sox, Lopez has allowed two or fewer runs in six of his past nine starts, and is looking for his second win in 2018.

2. Brantley update

Your daily Michael Brantley hit streak update: Brantley extended his hit streak to 18 games on Tuesday night with a single in the first inning.

Brantley had a stellar day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Along with his single in the first, he also connected on a solo home run in the third inning and an RBI single in the seventh inning.

During the streak, he is batting .367 (29-of-79) with six home runs and 19 RBI.

3. Recapping the series so far

Wednesday’s contest wraps up a three-game set for the Indians and White Sox. On Memorial Day, the Tribe had a come-from-behind 9-6 win. Highlights included a three-run double from Edwin Encarnacion that tied the game in the fifth inning, and a solo homer from the slugger for good measure.

On Tuesday, Cleveland came away with a 7-3 win. Brantley, Jose Ramirez, and Jason Kipnis all connected on homers for the Indians and six guys had multi-hit games. Check out three takeaways from the game here.
