Players to Love and Hate in Week Three Of Fantasy Football

Hates:

QB Ben Roethlisberger $8,500

I don’t truly hate Big Ben this week, but he is a much better QB at home than on the road. I’m still waiting for the Rams defensive line to show up, and with Pouncey out, they may force Big Ben to run around on Sunday. Oh, they also have a guy named Le’Veon Bell coming back too, and I’m sure they are going to try and get the football in his hands a lot. At this price range, I’m looking at other QBs or taking a cheaper option.

QB Derek Carr $6,600

Will we get the 61-yard week one Carr or the 350-yard week two Carr? Tough to really say, but going on the road is never easy for a young QB, and Joe Haden has done well over the years against teams number one WRs not named Antonio Brown.

RB Demarco Murray $7,800

The Panthers D went from my hate-starting lineup from last week to love, and Murray goes from my love to hate. To say he has been a disappointment is an understatement. Now, this week, he gets a turnover machine, Bowles-led defense. The Chip Kelly ship might be starting to sink.

RB Dion Lewis NE $6,700

Lewis seemed to be the back for New England the last two weeks, and ranks fifth among RBs this year. But this is also a New England team that seemed to throw exclusively last week against Buffalo. I don’t think they will return to that pass heavy offense this week, but LeGarrette Blount is also available and you never know what you will get with Bill Belichick.

RB Ameer Abdullah DET $6,000

While he’s had his flashes this year, Detroit just isn’t a running team. He’s gotten a total of 13 carries all year, despite being the best back Detroit has to offer. He hasn’t seen much in the pass game either with only five catches. Now the Lions face a Denver team that can ramp up the offense, and it could be a long game with all the passes attempted.

WR T.Y. Hilton $7,600

He might not play this week with his knee injury, but I won’t be certain when I write this. He obviously wasn’t 100 percent Monday. I’d start Moncrief over him this week in any league.

WR Amari Cooper OAK $6,900

I still love Cooper despite putting him here two weeks in a row. He proved me wrong last week, but he gets a shutdown corner in Haden this week that will be on him all day. Without any other major receiving threats, I think the Browns will put a lot of safety over top on his side of the field to help, too.

WR Larry Fitzgerald ARI $6,700

I’m not hopping on his bandwagon just yet. The Cardinals have a lot of weapons in the passing game, and at 32, he’s not the same receiver he used to be. I think the ball will be spread around more this time, so don’t expect another monster week from him.

WR Jeremy Maclin KC $6,500

While you do get a discount on him compared to other WRs, and even though the Packers may put up a bunch of points, I’m just going to guess this isn’t the week a Chiefs WR finally scores a TD.

TE Jason Witten DAL $6,000

I just don’t think Witten is going to have the same kind of production with Weeden as he did with Romo. He got one target on seven passes from Weeden. The Cowboys are going to run the ball a lot more.

TE Heath Miller $5,800

Now’s the time to start selling high on Miller if you have him in a fantasy league. The first two weeks without Bell and Martavis Bryant meant he was going to have to step up and be a part of the offense, and he put up points. Now with these guys starting to comeback, I expect his role to decrease.

D Broncos $4,600

When you look at the top scoring fantasy defenses in the league, I think the Broncos are the most vulnerable this week. They are on the road against Detroit, who likes to air it out and can put some points up against a rather solid Denver D, granted Stafford starts.
