Pitching Matchups Announced For the First Three Games of the ALDS Between the Indians and Astros

Today the times for games one and two of the ALDS were announced, and also it became official as to the pitching matchups for the first three games, as Terry Francona announced that Mike Clevinger will get the ball in game three.

Here’s the way things will look pitching wise for games one, two and three of the ALDS.

Game 1, Cleveland at Houston 2:05 p.m./1:05 p.m. ct TBS, WTAM/WMMS, IRN

RHP Corey Kluber vs. RHP Justin Verlander

The Indians did not face Verlander during the two regular-season series in 2018, but they were beat him up while he was a member of the Tigers in Detroit.

In 2017 Verlander was just 1-3 with an 8.14 ERA in 4 starts against the Indians, as they hit him for 19 runs. In 21 innings, he allowed 30 hits and 12 walks, and the Tribe hit .323 against him.

Two of Verlander’s four outings were four innings or shorter.

As for Kluber, he was 1-0 against Houston this season, giving up two earned runs against them, striking out 17 in 13.1 innings. The Astros managed three extra-base hits against him.
