One Former Golden State Warrior Says the Cavs ‘Got Lucky’ Friday in Game Four Win

The Cavs rose up and played an amazing game in game four of the NBA Finals on Friday to extend the series at least one more game, to be played Monday in Oakland.

Many feel that the Cavs can’t be as good in Oakland as they were on Friday, including one player who use to be a part of the Warriors, who says the Cavs ‘got lucky’ Friday.

That player is Anthony Morrow, who began his NBA career with the Warriors in 2008. In an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio on Saturday, Morrow said it will be something if the Cavs can continue the success they had Friday.

“Kyrie [Irving] has to have 40, they gotta hit 24-25 3’s, they gotta get JR [Smith] getting a few 3’s. LeBron [James] is going to be LeBron. That’s the kind of performance they have to have with all the firepower Golden State has,” Morrow said.

“Steph [Curry] didn’t really play as well as he wanted to, he didn’t shoot as well as he wanted to. They got lucky, honestly. Kevin [Durant] did what he was supposed to do. It’s going to be hard because Steph is not going to shoot like he did in Game 4, not in Oakland.”

Morrow, who will be a free agent this summer after playing with the Thunder last year before being dealt to the Bulls, said the way the Cavs shot the ball they should have had a much bigger lead on Friday.

“[The Cavs] have to make 25 3’s. They have to make 24 or 25 3’s. That’s how they have to play to have a chance. I was like ‘they should be up by 50.’ They would be beating any other team in the NBA by 50 the way they played [Friday night]. They scored 80 points in the first half and were still only up by 16 or 17 [Cavs led by 18].”

Of course it’s easy for Morrow, who will be shopping for a new team, to be shooting his mouth off about how the Cavs have to be perfect. They did what they had to do Friday, and we’ll see soon enough if they can do it again against Golden State.
