NFL Draft: Plenty of Solid QB’s in This Year’s Draft; Will the Browns Take One Early?

Cody Kessler

Cody Kessler – Southern California
22 years old, 6’ 1”, 220 lbs, 11” hands
Career (2012-2015): 851 comp, 1,261 att, 68 comp %, 10,339 pass yds, 88 pass TD, 19 int, -425 rush yds, 7 rush TD, 4.9 dash

Nothing really jumps out at you other than the numbers and the competitive nature. Not the biggest or the fastest but arguably just as intelligent as a Goff or Wentz.

Tumultuous career at USC. Most see him as a good career back up QB, but if given the opportunity, he could be your next Kirk Cousins, even though Cousin came into the draft with slightly more buzz than Kessler. Has one of the better completion percentage in this draft, and was also subject to program and coaching changes that could have left him in a similar situation to that of Hackenberg. You take a flyer on Kessler in the 6th or 7th round if you can spare the pick.
