NEO Sports Report Weekend Recap – Sweep Edition!

CLEVELAND, Ohio – It was a weekend of good housecleaning as the Cavs, Indians, Monsters and Bee’s all brought out their own brooms this weekend.

The Cavaliers finished off the Pistons last night in Detroit with a 100-98 Wine & Gold winner. The Pistons did have a chance at a last second shot for the win but it fell flat thanks to some tight defense by Kyrie Irving. The Cavs will now await the winner of the Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics series which is currently tied at two games apiece. Most importantly for the Cavs is that now they can rest and also that they made it through the first round injury free, unlike last postseason.

The Indians also completed a sweep in the motor city yesterday as they took all three games from their division rival Detroit Tigers by scores of 2-1, 6-3 and 10-1 as the bats came alive this weekend. The only sour note was Carlos Carrasco having to leave early yesterday with a strained hamstring. The full extent of his injury is not yet known. But, the Indians did place him on the 15 day DL. They begin a 3 game set in Minnesota against the Twins tonight then off to Philly for three more.

The Lake Erie Monsters finished off the sweep of the Rockford Ice Hogs 5 – 3 at the Q. They now advance to the second round of the Calder cup.

The Medina Bee’s also jumped in on the sweeping this weekend with a two game take-away off the Buckeye Bucks, also on the road. Tonight is senior night for the Bee’s as they welcome in Brunswick to the swarm.

Jon Bones Jones was victorious in his return to the cage this weekend over Ovince Saint Preux.
