Myles Garrett can leap tall buildings in a single bound

Myles Garrett has had a full and highlighted seven-year career as a member of the Cleveland Browns. Where do we start? More importantly, how does this story end for Garrett and the Browns? Could it end with a Cleveland Super Bowl win? Why not I say! Just when you think you have a player like Garrett figured out, he does something amazing on the football field that has you gasping, usually with joy.

However, sometimes, it’s in horror too. It wasn’t that long ago, back during the 2019 season when Garrett lost his mind for a split second and began swinging a football helmet at the opponent’s quarterback. In this case, it was against the Pittsburgh Steelers and their quarterback at the time Mason Rudolph. That got the human highlight reel indefinitely suspended. He was allowed to come back at the start of the 2020 season.

Ever since that moment, Garrett’s dominance in the NFL has continued to strengthen. Now he has more talented teammates playing alongside him, which has allowed him to expand his talents on the field of play.

Whenever you think you’ve seen it all, Garrett dazzles us with something extraordinary. What he did this past Sunday against the Colts was mind-blowing. He was a one-man wrecking crew. He finished with two strip sacks which led to two touchdowns. He knocked down a pass that was almost picked off. We’ve seen those things before.

What you don’t usually see though is what Garrett did late in the first half. That was seeing him jump directly over an offensive line player for the Colts from a standstill as he blocked a potential field goal attempt by Indy. You don’t see your average NFL player leaping tall buildings in pursuit of the football but for Garrett, he made the play look easy.

For the season Garrett now has 7.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. He’s the biggest headache for offensive linemen across the league and he doesn’t look like he’s slowing down in this latest season.

For his career, Garrett now has 82 sacks and 16 forced fumbles, most of those being strip sacks on the quarterback. He already has three of those sacks this season. He has 16 quarterback hits already which would put him on pace to have a lot more of those than any other previous season. He also has six tackles for losses on players other than the quarterback which would give him a shot at breaking his previous high mark of 18.

Garrett seems to be enjoying the game this season and that attitude has been paying off. He’s been seen oftentimes toying with opponents at the line of scrimmage daring them to try and stop him. So far, he’s been destroying that competition.

Garrett’s been given the keys to the car this season by his new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and that aggressive and more free way of playing has put a pep in the step of all the defensive players including Garrett, the symbolic leader of the unit.

What’s next? Who knows, but Garrett is becoming an even more special player for the Browns and that means good things for the team. So, stay tuned, grab your bag of popcorn, and enjoy the show!
