For most people, childhood was a time to enjoy the fun and care free innocence of life before having to take on adult responsibilities and problems. But imagine if those things were stripped away by something you cannot control, or even see.
Imagine having to wake up and face your mortality every single day before you’re even old enough to drive. This is the reality for millions of children across the country.
The goal of the Rainbow Warriors is to raise money for these children via the Extra Life Foundation. Donations received will be used for research, new technology, and basic living essentials to help make these kids lives as normal as possible.
Donations are tax deductible, and 100% of our proceeds will be kept local, as they will be sent to University’s Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio.
We all have our own motivations for working with Extra Life, and we all unite for the cause simply because we know we have the ability to make a difference. Something as simple as a gaming marathon, an event where people can come and go and just have fun, can end up having such a huge impact on the lives of children who need it the most.
This year, we are proud to partner with Gamepad: a video game retailer and lounge located in Berea, Ohio. Mike and Norma Hupp were generous enough to open their store for our 24 hour gaming marathon this year on Saturday, November 26th from 9pm-9pm the next day.
This is the perfect place for gaming, featuring 11 television sets, nearly every current gen and retro gaming console, and a huge stock of games to choose from and play during the marathon.
The marathon will also feature multiple items and baskets that will be raffled off throughout the event. Tickets may be purchased at the event, or by contacting the team through Facebook (Extra Life Rainbow Warriors) or Twitter (@rwextralife). Tickets are $1 each, or 6 for $5. There are millions of kids struggling in hospitals just trying to live normal lives. We need to fight for them. We all need to fight for them.
Anything you can spare, $1, $5, $20, anything at all could make a huge difference in the lives of these children. Just take a moment to look at your own situation, and if you decide that you’re doing pretty well please donate to those who are not as fortunate.
