Indians Pound Sale and Red Sox in 13-6 Win; Three Takeaways From the Victory

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Indians knew this series was important.

The final result against a fellow divisional leader in the Boston Red Sox was basically a stalemate, as the Indians split the four-game series against Boston winning Thursday’s finale in overpowering fashion 13-6.

From the first inning on, it looked like it was going to be one of those ball games

On the pitching side, Indians starter Trevor Bauer did not pitch all that great but it was enough to get the win often thanks to the offense putting up 13 runs. After the three runs he gave up in the fourth, Bauer was able to calm down and keep pitching efficiently.

Finally, the bats came alive against Boston ace Chris Sale and the Sox bullpen. First attacking Sale with seven runs before ending his night.

Now with 70 wins in 2017, we take a look at three takeaways from the win before the Tribe gets set for a big weekend three-game set against the Royals starting Friday.
