Indians Lose 3 of 4 To Mariners Following 10-4 Loss; Three Takeaways from the Setback

1. Tomlin’s Early Struggles

Looks like Josh Tomlin will have to wait for at least five more days to try to get his first win of the season. The Mariners roughed up Tomlin starting in the second inning where they attacked five runs in the inning.

Started out with Ryon Healy RBI single to score Mitch Haniger. Three batters later, still in the second inning, Robinson Cano connected on a two-run homer to center field.

It took awhile for Tomlin to calm down, pitching three scoreless innings until it got to the sixth inning when Healy went deep to left for a home run to make it a 6-2 game.

Final numbers on Tomlin – 6 innings, 10 hits, 6 runs earned and 3 strikeouts.
