1. Same Old Cupcakes- Max Holloway enjoys cupcakes. After a successful weigh-in, the UFC Featherweight Champion enjoys a sweet treat in what has become a tradition for the Hawaii native. However, he does not enjoy old flavors on his cupcakes.
Okay, let me explain.
Holloway has compared his division to a batch of cupcakes. Sure there is a bunch of them, but they are all decorated with the same old frosting he’s already seen. The flavors of Aldo, Swanson, Oliviera, and Lamas are as appealing to Holloway as fruitcake is to most of us during Christmas time. None of these names really excite Holloway at this point, as he has already racked up a win against every one of those fighters. But the kingpin won’t say no to giving guys another crack, as he has no problem dishing out a second or third loss.
The Featherweight Champion talks about looking for a new flavor. Well, look no further than title contender Frankie Edgar. Edgar was originally slated to take on Holloway in Detroit before an injury put an abrupt halt to those plans. Depending on how quickly Edgar heals up, the next fight to make would be Holloway versus Edgar in a first-time fight. It makes a great deal of sense for the fighters involved and is a fight that the fans can get behind.
