Munch Musings on new additions to the Guardians ballpark this season

All pretty darn good in my old neighborhood!!

Just made a visit to the corner of Carnegie and Ontario to get my 2024 Cleveland Guardians credentials and I got a huge smile seeing the banner noting “4 Days Until Opening Day” hanging over the entrance to the Left Field District or as many know “The Home Run Porch!”

Changes galore in the glorious bastion for the National Past Time being played in #TheCLE and I’ll share pics with you!

Now I cannot say I miss the “PODS” in the upper deck in right field. If you do feel free to cry on my shoulder. I do not feel I will have any takers. A new “PARTY DISTRICT” awaits those looking to expand their horizons from The “CORNER DISTRICT” in lower right field and this area will soon be joined by another in the old Terrace Club down the left field line. These places are actually superb spots to view the Guards in action. My sons (24 and 30) grab that monthly pass and get to the games when the gates open so they can stake out their spots especially in RF with a “standing counter” to place their cold beverages and have a place to stake out with their buddies as their turf! I will say this from experience – after leaving the comfort of the press box and heading to hang with my sons and their pals in these “Party Zones” (we have also enjoyed from the stand-up area and counters in LF) that this is an unbelievable exciting way to watch a game. It’s like you are hanging at a friend’s house enjoying live baseball, and we all know #BaseballIsTheBest! Fans seem to feed off each other even more in these areas and high fives galore are commonplace!

The upper deck in RF is ready to rock and LF is still covered with plastic which will be off by opening day! One other thing hot me big time around the ballpark…ACTIVITY galore as workers are fervently doing their thing to get the yard ready to go Monday!

It is also very touching from this Class Organization that a fan at a game at Progressive Field cannot miss the fact that when they are in the bleachers they are in the JOHN ADAMS BLEACHERS…always the OG of Cleveland Baseball!

Of course, The Guardians installed a plaque on the wall behind Adams’ seat at Progressive Field, featuring John in his patented white button-down, holding his mallets and resting his hand atop his 26-inch drum. Please take a trek up those bleacher steps to pay homage to John and offer a heartfelt THANKS as his spirit will also be in that spot!

Heritage Park is getting spiffed up too as well as the Heritage Park Plaza in dead center field which is a more open area where fans truly love to mingle these days. YES, BASEBALL IS THE MAIN PLAYER HERE but being with buds, fellow fans and enjoying this great game is the norm these days plus having the freedom to rove around.

Another note: The Cleveland Guardians team shop will have a temporary home on the Plaza between Progressive Field and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse while construction continues on the Ontario side of the ballpark!

I’m sharing these photos of the Yard and truly you’re seeing them first on the home of the best Guardians coverage NEO Sports Insiders!
