5. The Browns Are Not Playoff Bound
Cleveland won’t make the playoffs but they also aren’t rebuilding. Keeping Hyde ahead of Chubb would make more sense for a playoff team but in this situation it may just be slowing the growth of Chubb.
The Browns are looking towards the future and that starts this season. Allowing Chubb to get the experience as a starter this year along with Mayfield and Callaway will make this an explosive offense towards the end of the season and next year that Cleveland hasn’t had since 2007. This point goes along with reason four.
