An Early Look (and Guess) on What the Indians Do with Their 2018 Free Agents

Carlos Santana – Free Agent

“This is my house.” Those were the words of Carlos Santana after Wednesday’s loss to the Yankees, a plea to want to stay with the Indians and continue his career with the Tribe.

In eight seasons with the Indians he hit 174 homers, drew an amazing 726 walks, and overall hit for an average of .249 in those eight years.

The Indians have a tough decision to make with Santana, but it’s one that appears pretty simple – his time with the Indians is over.

The club did bring him back on a club option in 2017, and he hit .253 with 23 homers and 79 RBI after a very slow start, but overall didn’t hit as well as last season.

He did play a very good first base which will make him marketable on the free agent market to some team, but his time with the Indians is over.

Early Guess – Said it above, the Indians will dabble with an offer, but the team would rather keep around Bruce, and they eventually say ‘goodbye’ to Santana after eight seasons.
