Cavaliers drop third straight game with 114-95 loss to Knicks; three takeaways

3. Rose’s return

Derrick Rose made his return on Sunday, seeing in-game action for the first time since the fourth quarter against the Milwaukee Bucks on Oct. 20.

Rose ended the night with 15 points, three assists, three rebounds and four turnovers against his former team.

“First game having D-Rose back, a little rusty as far as turning the ball over a little bit,” Lue said. “But, we need him to be aggressive, playing with pace, not looking over his shoulder.”

His absence has thrown the Cavs through a loop, especially when it comes to his ability to draw defenders when penetrating in the lane on offense. And while it isn’t an excuse, hopefully some of these growing pains will go away if Rose stays healthy.
