Carrasco Looks to Stay Hot as Indians Host the A’s, The Tribe Starting Nine

The 25-20 Indians are back for game five of their 11-game homestand this evening, as after winning three of four against the Orioles over the weekend, the Wahoo’s welcome the Oakland A’s to Progressive Field for the first of three games.

The Tribe offense had a great weekend, scoring 29 runs in the four games total. They were held to a single run on Friday, but other than that had their best stretch on offense of the season thus far.

Oakland took two of three from the Indians two weekends ago, beating the Tribe 4-3 and 3-2 before the Indians took the Sunday finale 5-3.

At five games over .500 the Indians remain in second in the AL Central, 4.5 games back of the Twins who enter play Monday at 30-16.

Tonight Carlos Carrasco goes for the Tribe, Carrasco enters play Monday 4-3 with a 4.18 ERA.

He will look to extend his streak of 12 consecutive scoreless innings against the A’s. He was sensational again against the White Sox in his last two starts, shutting them out in a five inning affair allowing two hits on May 9th, and then in Chicago he gave up six hits in another shutout, this time 9-0.

Lefty Brett Anderson (4-3, 4.41 ERA) will get the start for the A’s. He’s lost three of his last four starts, falling last in a 4-3 decision to Seattle in which he gave up four runs on six hits.

Here’s today’s starting lineup for the Indians:

SS Francisco Lindor
2B Jason Kipnis
1B Carlos Santana
RF Jordan Luplow
3B Jose Ramirez
C Roberto Perez
DH Carlos Gonzalez
LF Oscar Mercado
CF Leonys Martin
