Bedford Bearcats wins big over Maple Mustangs,41-0

dscn0161MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio– On this early Saturday afternoon we had a conference rivalry game in which the 4-0 Bedford Bearcats traveled to take on the 3-1 Maple Heights Mustangs. Last week Bedford pulled off a close win against Warrensville Heights (35-32), in which according to Fox 8 News Friday Night Touchdown was voted to be High School football Game of the Week with game winning play for the Bearcats coming within the last minute of the game .

Maple Hts was not victorious last week against Parma Padua losing 27-26 heading into this week’s homecoming game.

From beginning until the end of the game the Head coach Sean Williams and Bearcats controlled the flow of the game offensively and defensively. Forcing 3 fourth down punts in the first quarter and scoring  touchdowns on each of those punts grabbing an early 19-0 lead in the first quarter missing two 2-point conversions.dscn0330

Maple could not find a answer to stop the connection between quarterback Arshaun Boone and his wideout crew today today because he threw for 274 yards and 4 touchdowns in this rivalry game.

There wasn’t much offense on display for the Mustangs, battling forced punts and forced turnovers all afternoon.

Bedscn0224dford’s wide reciever Davion Johnson had a great game catching 2 touchdowns and multiple first down receptions, not only was he scoring touchdowns but also catching multiple 2-point conversions adding to those touchdown scores for the Bedford Bearcats.

Trent Cloud and Deangelo Howard also contributed to catching a touchdown a piece from Arshaun Boone. It was just a magical day for the Bearcat offense.dscn0386

And let’s not forget about the Bearcats defense who only allowed 134 yards of total offense for the day and only 31 of those yards came from rushing.dscn0259

HC Devlin Culliver and the Maple Hts. Mustangs will be on the road next week against Cleveland Heights for another Lake Erie League game.
