Tribe takes game one of Yankees doubleheader; three takeaways

1. Bauer Outage

Trevor Bauer ended the afternoon after six innings. He allowed just one run and four hits, while also walking four batters and striking out four.

Bauer had to fight through some tough situations, but he managed to minimize the damage. In the third inning, after walking Aaron Hicks, Bauer gave up an RBI double to Didi Gregorius to score the Yankees only run of the game. Despite a wild pitch in the next at-bat to Chase Headley that allowed Gregorius to get to third, Bauer still managed to get out of the inning with a strikeout.

Bauer has shown good consistency as of late, and has pitched at least six innings in six of his last seven starts.

Bauer earned the third win of his career against the Yankees, and his first ever win at Yankee Stadium. Most importantly, however, he is now 5-0 in six starts in the month of August.

As a rotation, the Indians starting pitchers are now 17-4 this month, a number that leads all of Major League Baseball.
