3. LeBron James will not play in the preseason opener on Wednesday
James did not play in the scrimmage on Monday as he continues to nurse an ankle injury that he suffered last Wednesday during training camp when he landed on a teammate’s foot.
In his post-game availability, Lue confirmed that James would not play in the Cavs preseason opener on Wednesday Against the Atlanta Hawks. Rookie Cedi Osman also did not play on Monday and has missed practice time with back spasms. His status for Wednesday isn’t clear.
Since James got injured on Wednesday, the same day that Wade signed his contract with Cleveland, the two have not played together as Wade was running the point with the reserves.
“I was on the white team so we haven’t played together still in like four years,” Wade said with a laugh.
